Fabolous - It's My Time

It's his time!!! Fab goes hard on his new single and does an amazing job. His video is also well done where it is made in the form of a movie preview that tells us that Fab is gettin ready to take over. He has been in the game for a while now and had hits here and there, but with his new single he is ready to make a run for the top. And if the rest of his songs are as good and catchy as this, then he might legitimately have a shot. Tell me what yall think about this song!

Chamillionaire

I'm just gonna put this out there, Chamillionaire is one of the best rappers in the game now. Now, before yall start flippin out listen, I didn't say he was the BEST in the game right now, just up there in the elite few that are still moving the rap and hip hop genre in the right direction. He is actually concerned with the meaning of his songs and has some great stories behind them that reflect the world we live in today instead of just rappin about the "cars, clothes, and hoes." Even though that stuff sells, and he does put some of it in his music, it isn't what he focuses on. He has some amazing beats and is a great lyricist. Also, while I am in no way trying to compare him to the outstanding talent of Tupac (R.I.P.), he does sort of remind me of how 2Pac rapped. 2Pac put stories behind a lot of his raps and touched on subjects to try and improve the community around him, such as in Brenda's Got A Baby, Changes, etc. Chamillionaire seems to be taking a similar route, especially on his sophomore album in which he addresses issues in today's society. He is constantly evolving as an artist from the days of his underground work. Finally, he stays true to his fans by not just selling out and going straight commercial, but also doing the mixtape series on the side with the Mixtape Messiahs. I am ready to see what his third album Venom brings to the table as well as his next installment of Mixtape Messiah 7.

Fat B - Popcorn

What you know about that new Popcorn song by Fat B?! Not really a lyrically genius song, but the beat is catchy and starts to make you wonder what he is talking about. Seems like he is referring to a certain drug, but check it out for yourself. Fat B has made his presence on the scene through the mixtape game and needs to keep creating catchy songs like this one for the generation we live in today to start listening. We are in that "Soulja Boy" era right now where little kids don't respect real hip-hop and rap music with any real meaning behind it. So anyone who wants to come out with some bangin beats with worthless lyrics might just sell.....for now...

Ace Hood's Overtime

So, even though this song has been out for a minute, I was wantin to see what yall think about this song? I feel that Ace Hood has stepped up his game with this next installment since first coming mainstream with Cash Flow and later followed by Ride. This song has a lot of meaning behind it, especially when you view the video as you listen to it. It makes the viewer want to accomplish something and sort of shows that anything can be accomplished when you put your mind to it, even though that is a little cliche. There is the subliminal meaning behind it as well which shows that he himself as an artist accomplished his goal of putting himself in the limelight of the hip hop and rap community, even though he always had haters as he came up. I can't wait to see what he does next with his lyrical talents. So, what does everyone else out there think?

And if you haven't heard it yet, go listen to it here --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujfUHlTGiZs and then come back and tell me what you think!
