Chamillionaire

I'm just gonna put this out there, Chamillionaire is one of the best rappers in the game now. Now, before yall start flippin out listen, I didn't say he was the BEST in the game right now, just up there in the elite few that are still moving the rap and hip hop genre in the right direction. He is actually concerned with the meaning of his songs and has some great stories behind them that reflect the world we live in today instead of just rappin about the "cars, clothes, and hoes." Even though that stuff sells, and he does put some of it in his music, it isn't what he focuses on. He has some amazing beats and is a great lyricist. Also, while I am in no way trying to compare him to the outstanding talent of Tupac (R.I.P.), he does sort of remind me of how 2Pac rapped. 2Pac put stories behind a lot of his raps and touched on subjects to try and improve the community around him, such as in Brenda's Got A Baby, Changes, etc. Chamillionaire seems to be taking a similar route, especially on his sophomore album in which he addresses issues in today's society. He is constantly evolving as an artist from the days of his underground work. Finally, he stays true to his fans by not just selling out and going straight commercial, but also doing the mixtape series on the side with the Mixtape Messiahs. I am ready to see what his third album Venom brings to the table as well as his next installment of Mixtape Messiah 7.
